About me

Hi there, I’m Rachael.  It’s so lovely to meet you here.

I’m a professional, trained coach and I specialise in supporting professionals to create lives and careers where they can actually thrive – instead of just surviving.

As well as working with private clients, I also work with organisations to provide wellbeing workshops, consultancy and coaching for their staff and leaders.

My coaching is rooted in positive psychology, which is an evidence based approach to promoting flourishing and thriving.

I have a portfolio career, and alongside my coaching practice, I work part-time as a medical doctor (GP) with an interest in women’s health.  I also am a yoga and meditation teacher, which I love.

I write a (mostly) weekly email letter on substack, called The Part of You That Knows.

My Story

As a GP, I became frustrated at seeing so many people (both patients and colleagues) experiencing constant stress and becoming burnt out.

And so I decided to undertake accredited coaching training in 2020 so I could use my skills and personal experience to support others to find more balance in their life and their work.

As a doctor, I have expertise in the science behind stress management and burnout prevention.  As a yoga teacher,  I have an appreciation and understanding of more holistic, non medical approaches to wellbeing.  I also have experience of career development and running a small business.  Coaching enables me to bring this experience and expertise together.

As my coaching practice grew, I created Purpose & Potential in 2022, where I offer a wellbeing-first approach to coach my clients around the themes of career, wellbeing, leadership and personal development.

Because I love learning, I wanted to develop my knowledge and skills to support my clients even further and so I started an MSc in applied positive psychology and coaching psychology in 2022.

I live with my husband and our dog Buddy, in Manchester.

My Coaching Approach

I blend science (evidence based coaching practices) with more creative coaching approaches to allow you to live, work and lead in a way that sustains your wellbeing – whatever that looks like for you.

I love supporting people to live, work and lead in a way that sparks joy and purpose – not just because these things feel nice and fun – but because there’s also growing evidence that joy and a sense of purpose are essential to our wellbeing – both individually and collectively.

What my clients say

"Rachael provides such a supportive, open space and is able to meet you where you are at on any given day. She prescribes the perfect dose of a listening ear, useful prompts to get you thinking and guided exercises that help you connect and slow down to notice what’s really going on.

Rachael’s coaching sessions were exactly what I needed in a time where everything felt overwhelming and chaotic. By the end of our sessions I feel I have got more of a balance in life and can prioritise myself and wellbeing without life falling out of control too"
